Group Supervision
Individual supervision gives you one perspective.
Group supervision gives you a room, a shared space, to truly see you’re not alone in your practice.
There's a particular kind of relief in hearing another practitioner name the exact thing you've been sitting with alone. The ethical grey area you couldn't quite put words to. The moment with a client that's stayed with you longer than it should have. In a group, you find out you're not the only one carrying it, and that changes what you can do with it. There’s also incredible learning that comes from hearing other perspectives, combined with a sense of belongingness. Particularly for those in private practice, where isolation can be overwhelming, group supervision can support you to thrive in your practice.
This isn't a training session and it isn't a support group. It's structured reflective practice, held by someone who knows how to keep a group safe enough to be honest in.
I hold the space so you don't have to manage the dynamics yourself
I started running groups because one-on-one supervision, as good as it can be, still leaves you thinking you're the only one struggling with what you're struggling with, despite assurances otherwise.
Every group I've run has the same moment, usually early on, where someone says something they've been sitting with quietly for weeks, and you watch two other people's shoulders drop because they've been carrying the same thing and didn't know how to bring it up. That's the whole point of doing this in a group instead of alone with me.
I cap groups at six people. Six means there's time for your session to actually be about your practice, not just witnessed by everyone else's.
We meet for 90 minutes, online, so location doesn't matter. If you're part of an organisation based in Canberra, I can run these in person for your team instead.
If you want to be part of a group, get in touch.
